An exciting opportunity to join Qvella as a Clinical Applications Specialist . This is a permanent opportunity with Qvella Corporation located in Belgium . Qvella is a molecular diagnostics company building the infrastructure to field and support transforming products in the microbiology market segment in the coming years. We are looking for ambitious, driven, relationship focused and experienced laboratory professionals with additional experience in interacting with clinicians, that want to work in a fast paced environment. Required attributes include a positive attitude and flexibility to handle typical growing pains that a new company may experience. What is certain in this role is change as we continue to add products and increase our territories. Embracing this change will be the key to success for all of our team. Europe is one of the main target markets in which Qvella is selling its products throughout a network of distribution partners. As such, Qvella is now expanding its team in its office in Mechelen, Belgium, to provide expert support level to that network. Nature and Scope of Work: The Clinical Application Specialist, reporting into the Director of Global Sales and Service, will be integral in transforming products of the future, and will participate in a team driven environment with a pioneering spirit. Working closely with the distributors, this position is responsible for providing pre-sale support, product demonstrations and product trainings and team selling activities for Qvella p roducts. This person will c ultivate positive customer relationships and be a high-level customer interface for Qvella products as well as a technical expert to contribute to territory development, growth, relationship building and revenue goals selling instruments and reagents. This is a mobile role, based in Belgium, with frequent travel to several European sites. The incumbent will be visiting hospitals (or similar medical facilities) within the geographic region. In addition, they will be attending various local and regional trade shows or visiting our home office in Richmond Hill, ON, Canada. Must be willing and capable to travel throughout Europe, Monday through Friday as required sometimes with short notice including occasional weekend travel in order to be on site Monday morning. Expected travel load up to 30%. To facilitate this mobility, incumbents will be provided a suitable laptop, printer, cellular phone, company car or car allowance and expense reimbursement according to company policy. Note that we reserve the right at any time to redistribute geographic areas as we grow and develop the market, though all reasonable efforts will be made to protect productive relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily: Work closely with our distributors to provide expert technical, demo service and product leadership during sales process by demonstrating superior product and application support for Qvella products Provide support to help our distributors for customer implementation processes by providing product and applications information, answering inquiries, giving presentation and assist customer with meeting their regulatory and validation requirements. Develop, coordinate and deliver product training to distributors on Qvella products and applications Improve customer satisfaction and retention through trouble shooting and continuing education on optimization of customer processes Maintain good communication with distribution partners and gather information on the customers’ needs and relay that information to Headquarters in order to identify present and future customer needs and to enhance customer relations, where applicable Support trade shows and professional conferences by performing product demonstration and seminars. Use market and product knowledge to assist our distributors in developing sales, marketing and customer account sales strategies; Support marketing with product launches Provide competitive product insight and provide regular p roduct feedback/improvements to internal stakeholders. Works with customers or other experts to generate appropriate field data and application notes or publications which highlight product benefits and helps differentiate Qvella products Develop and provide reports summarizing activities and workloads in a timely fashion and following company policy; Provide information to direct management/peers and other functional groups including; deviations, problems, account information, and strategic information. Contribute to the development of structured teaching manuals and maintenance of technical support literature that ensure customers are able to effectively use system applications and functionality. Accomplish results individually and in collaboration in teams and work groups; Proactively address and support sales objectives and organizational directives to define problems and devise solutions, assist with work-flow analysis and process redesign. Other tasks and duties as required. Qualifications and Requirements: 3+ years' experience with general laboratory techniques, data analysis and data interpretation Experience in microbiology and molecular diagnostics space with a background in infectious disease is a plus A demonstrated understanding of how hospitals operate with the ability to apply that to uncover and address their unmet needs Experience in interacting with key stakeholders Having experience with setting up product evaluations in a clinical laboratory Have an understanding of how microbiology diagnostics is done today and hospital antimicrobial stewardship initiatives Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Other EU languages are a plus. Education : BS/MS degree, or equal by experience, in biological sciences or chemistry, with a commercial mindset. Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist degrees a plus. Knowledge on Microbiology and Antibiotics highly desirable. What are you waiting for? Apply Now!
